Description
Job title: National Accounts Manager
Responsible to: Head of Label Relations
Department: Caroline International
Location of work: Ladbroke Grove
Caroline International is a globally integrated network of label management, marketing and promotional teams providing commercial, distribution, marketing & admin services. Caroline International, based in the UK but with teams in all major territories, works alongside the Caroline US label to provide independent labels and UMG signed repertoire market benchmarked services.
Reporting to the Head of Label Relations this role is primarily to manage and maximise the commercial prospects for releases from label & artist partners across a broad and exciting range of repertoire.
Main purpose of role
• Manage relationships, sales, stock, pricing, margins, returns & retail marketing at physical accounts
• Manage relationships, product support, playlist priorities, pricing & retail marketing at digital accounts
• Assist with the management & development of relationships at all levels within the accounts, adopting a consultative approach – Listen, Advice, Notice, Question, at the same time using this consultative process to influence & gain commitment
• Become an expert in account operational process
• Compile all relevant release information for communication to all accounts within a timely & professional manner
• Become an Amazon vendor central expert. Deal with feed issues, content enrichment on store
• Manage sales note and external schedule mailout to key partners including; Independent Field Sales
• Chair weekly meeting with the UK marketing teams to establish retail marketing budgets by title
• Manage internal administration across Caroline regarding the selling process including returns, markdowns, price changes etc
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of past performance & future forecast at market, retailer & product level
• Deliver label Sales Business Plan to Caroline UK management
• Oversee the UK physical stock lifecycle. Accurately forecast initial manufacture & provide weekly forecasts to planning team
• Ensure that physical stock holding is managed effectively by constant review of slow moving lines recommending deletion or dealer price changes as appropriate
• Liaise with Business Affairs to ensure that right catalogue at the right price at the right time
• Liaise with marketing teams to ensure retail presence at label gigs, showcases & playbacks
• Recognise D2C & e-commerce opportunities & work with Head of Digital to deliver these alongside traditional & digital retail
• Communicate price changes across international teams
Person Specification Essential
• Relevant music industry experience at label or distributor
• Strong financial skills/confident financial analysis
• Excellent attention to detail
• Thinks strategically and is commercially aware
• Ability to builds & maintain relationships at all levels
• Excellent communication skills demonstrated internally & externally
• Confident presenter
• Drives results
• Highly organised, able to manage busy work schedule and juggle competing demands
• Exhibits professional excellence
• Team Player
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
Desirable
• Knowledge & previous use of Business Objects (training can be provided)
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge & awareness of the ever-changing retail & digital environment
