Cole, Diane Warren, Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Miley Cyrus, Billy Joel, Luke Laird and Ariana Grande.
UMPG is currently seeking to fill the role of Mechanical Licensing Administrator. In this role, you will be assisting our mechanical licensing team in licensing our varied catalogue and ensuring that our songs are registered properly with mechanical rights societies, record labels and digital service providers.
The position affords the right candidate exposure to many key players in the business space. You have a passion for music; you want to help protect songwriters' rights and get them paid; and you are hungry to learn and grow in the business of music.
B. Job Functions:
• Key point person for gratis and reduced rate mechanical licensing requests
• Review requests and make recommendations to senior management, balancing business interests with those of our writers, and taking into account industry trends and precedents
• Obtain writer consent as necessary
• Issue and track notifications of catalogue acquisitions to outside parties
• Assist mechanical licensing and copyright departments as necessary, including
special projects and research

• Basic understanding of music publishing and copyright
• Interest in music industry news and trends
Experience:
• 2-3 years Music Industry licensing/copyright/administration experience is preferred
Education:
• High school equivalent or higher required
• College degree preferred
• Music degree a plus
