Job Summary:
Universal Music Group is currently seeking a Manager, Sync position in our Santa Monica office location. Decca Publishing is an innovative music publishing division within Universal Music Group dedicated to expanding the opportunities for neo-classical composers to write for TV, movies, video game scores and more as well as signing soundtrack composers and catalogues. Decca Publishing will complement the classical division of Universal Music Publishing, one of the largest and most respected publishers
of classical music in the world and will also enhance Universal Music UK's other recent soundtrack composer initiatives, such as the Globe Soundtrack and Score venture launched to develop composing talent in conjunction with Abbey Road Studios.''
Job Functions:
• Manage and oversee synch across all media types for the Decca UK publishing roster
• Creatively pitch, identify and secure new synch opportunities to meet yearly revenue goals
• Work closely with the SVP of Sync, Decca Publishing, marketing, brand partnerships, A&R as well as other key project stakeholders to create timely opportunities around record releases and other key platforms that will help promote the Decca UK publishing roster.
• Partner with broader sync team to develop and implement tactics for client outreach, while developing and growing relationships with existing clients.
• Develop and execute strategy to develop new synch client opportunities
• Create and execute best in class showcases, special events and marketing initiatives to introduce writers and engage client community.
• Work closely with artists, publishers and artist representatives to ensure sync initiatives align with writer objectives
Job Requirements:
• 4-6 years in entertainment/media/advertising
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial music sync sales/business development capacity
• Exemplary knowledge of music licensing intricacies
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage a high volume workload
