Description
GDCA (Global Deal Compliance and Administration) is a newly formed business unit which currently resides in Global Royalties. It is governed by an oversight body represented by the global head of business affairs, global head of royalties and global head of finance. The GDCA serves an internal and an external function:
Internally, GDCA is tasked with ensuring that UMG business units (business affairs, royalties and finance) are familiar with, understand and, are in compliance the contractual obligations that fall within with their remit, as well as identifying process improvement and efficiency opportunities and partnering with the business to implement those.
Externally, GDCA provides white glove customer service to UMG’s global / key accounts. Acting as the primary point of contact to UMG’s business partner, the GDCA monitors and reports on operational issues at these key accounts, as well as facilitates the timely responses or solutions to enquiries and problems by enlisting the support from the appropriate internal UMG stakeholders. Additionally, in some instances, GDCA will bridge resource/process gaps by implementing a new process and/or identifying an appropriate stakeholder within the business.
Job Functions:
The manager will report to the head of GDCA, supporting all aspects of the department as required.
Key responsibilities:
• Support the head of GDCA in maintaining footprint/regular contact with internal and external stakeholders (i.e.: newsletters, meetings etc.)
• understands and distils complex deal terms (example: Joint ventures, profit splits, partner label licenses/p&d’s) into key commercial terms aligned to a business unit, process and process owner;
• reviews and documents business processes (including systems, business approvals, security etc.) and supports the development of improved and efficient processes / operations;
• investigates
• lead various business support projects under the direction of the head of GDCA (examples: in-bound audits, developing global standards, implementing reporting, assessing off-shore capabilities)
• develops and maintains compliance issue log to support the dashboard reporting for each of the key accounts and for each business head
Job Requirements:
Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration desired
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in compliance (internal audit, SOX or similar)
• Strong computer skills, in particular Excel (pivot tables, formula) and PowerPoint. Must be comfortable learning new systems
