Full Time Job
A. Job Summary: The Manager, Finance position is responsible for various aspects of financial planning and analysis for the Verve Label Group and will act as liaison between the Finance, Accounting, Executive, Sales, Marketing, and Production departments, prepare and analyze forecast and actual results, perform project analyses, sales reports and other ad hoc analyses as required. This position will support two record labels with shared departments.
B. Job Functions:
• Prepare the quarterly corporate financial forecasts, internal monthly forecast and annual plans, as well as support elements of monthly financial close.
• Identify and analyze variances to budget and forecast with thorough understanding of drivers and outliers.
• Review month-end close work performed by the Central Accounting and Royalties departments.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, project P&L's and frequent ad-hoc analyses and projects as needed.
• Work with Product Managers and Sales Department to determine pricing for all releases.
• Expected to enhance and modify models and databases as needed.
• Review JV/Distribution Deal statements prepared by Central Accounting.
• Prepare annual Sarbanes Oxley narratives and testing.
C. Job Requirements:
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years-experience in accounting/finance, preferably with an entertainment company
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Knowledge and experience with corporate finance required.
• Demonstrable proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, accounting and financial applications software; SAP experience/knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office products including advanced skills in Excel.
• Great organizational skills with the ability to prioritize based on evolving workload.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and the ability to establish quick rapport.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines and rapidly evolving business environment.
Education:
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance
