Description
Job title: Manager, Digital Business Development
Responsible to: VP, Digital Business Development
Department: Digital Business and Strategy
Location of work: London, W14
Main Purpose of Role
The Digital Business Manager will play an integral part in supporting strategy development, supporting key partner relationships and successfully assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing agreements. The executive will serve as an internal consultant and advise on digital market development opportunities.
As part of the Digital Business and Strategy Team you will be responsible for the following:
• Manage global and regional repertoire licensing deals for UMG, structuring key partnership terms.
• Lead licensing negotiations for a variety of new and existing international digital partners.
• Support senior members of the team providing analysis and financial modelling for both internal review purposes and as part of external negotiations.
• Use local and international market knowledge to assess and prioritise new partnership and revenue opportunities.
• Develop collaborate with existing partners to ensure revenue potential is fully realised, making recommendations for service development and revenue growth.
• Maintain excellent and on-going relationships with existing partners, with an emphasis on regular communication.
• Work closely with all other internal departments, including the wider business development and commercial teams, business affairs, finance, technology, marketing, new business, at all stages of the deal process.
• Operate as an internal consultant to advise on digital market development opportunities
• Identify analysis requirements for the business at a partner, business or market level, and work closely with analysis & research teams to brief, communicate and act on results.
• Keep up to date with global online trends/competitors and use to maximise opportunity presented by technological innovation and changing online behaviour.
Person Specification
• A minimum of five years international experience working in a similar Commercial or Business Development role within the digital content/entertainment business.
• Solid experience negotiating contracts with external business partners and communicating complicated deal rationale to internal stakeholders.
• Understanding of music rights landscape desirable.
• Strong analytical skills (advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential) to comfortably manage deal modelling and forecasting using partner financial information and market data.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and meet deadlines.
• Digital native with expert knowledge of the consumer technology including devices, services, platforms and insightful understanding of current business issues.
• Exceptional presentation, communication and organisational skills (a good working knowledge of Keynote would be preferable).
• Ability to influence and build relationships across a large and complex organisation.
• Quick learner, hard working and adaptable in a fast paced team environment.
