Description
The Manager of Asset & Archive Management manages day-to-day media asset archival operations in Nashville with a focus on video and graphic content, supporting UMG Nashville locally as a member of the global Asset & Archive Management team.
Job Functions:
• Manage ingest and accurate metadata entry of new assets, ensuring they are placed into the appropriate vault location based on type & potential uses.
• Update metadata for existing assets as needed to ensure an accurate & complete asset repository.
• Capture reference photographs of master assets (analog tapes boxes, digital tape boxes, etc.) for preview / research purposes.
• Perform high resolution scanning of various graphics types (reflective, transparency, print, etc.),
• Capture reference photographs of various graphics types (reflective, transparency, print, etc.) for preview/research purposes.
• Enter and/or update descriptive metadata for photo assets in UMG central repository.
• Prepare physical graphics assets for storage, ensuring they are well maintained and in the proper storage container.
• Upload photo assets into central UMG repository.
• Fulfill digital & physical asset delivery requests.
• Keep track of loaned physical items from the vault and ensure they are returned complete and in a timely fashion.
• Verify and organize contents of assets delivered on optical media (hard drive, CD-R, DVD-R, etc.) and ensure they are properly catalogued and ingested into central UMG repository.
• Perform general maintenance for physical assets like storage container repair/replacement, installing tape flanges, etc.
• Perform asset research at the request of UMG frontline and catalog label teams.
• Participate in the development, execution and maintenance of global asset & archival strategy
• Manage vendor relationships
• Manage label relationships
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Process improvement; Understanding of entertainment media assets; Understanding of the major label music business; Ability to effectively communicate with senior management; ability to deal with ambiguity and to work independently
Experience:
• 5 years working with digital and physical media (audio, video & graphics)
• 5 years entertainment media production/asset management experience
Education:
• Relevant College degree or equivalent job-related experience
