Main Purpose of Role
This role works in the Digital Solutions and Service Management team within the International Digital Supply Chain. In close coordination with the digital business stakeholders, Product Owners and in partnership with UMG IT and/or external vendors, the individual works to analyse system enhancements and bug fixes, assisting with maintenance and development releases. To understand, define and implement new digital operations processes and tools that ensure the department is able to support the businesses objectives (tactical or strategic) and communicate details of system updates and process changes to business users. These projects may result in new system development, and/or new business process definition.
Key Responsibilities
In particular, this role will be responsible for the following:
1. Provide analysis for Digital Operations as necessary
a. Understanding of the objective and requirements
b. Detailed analysis and interpretation of the provided information
c. Communication and presentation of the results to the project teams
2. Operational Implementation of project: capture, analyse, track, and communicate end-to-end implementation project activities and coordinate as needed for the fulfilment of these activities. This includes analysis, development and service implementation changes where necessary.
3. Definition of Business Requirements: ensure development requests and operational needs relating to the global digital supply chain are appropriately captured by facilitating sessions with the business stakeholders; A clear business justification will need to be documented for all requests and changes. Work closely with other BA’s and PM’s across products to ensure that coordination with vendors/IT suppliers and overall objectives are in line.
4. Management of communication internally and externally as needed around digital operations projects and products including current status and project plans to ensure visibility of key stakeholders.
5. Ability to liaise with UMG business, IT and Service Management teams on questions regarding current design and future design of the Digital Supply Chain applications and business processes.
6. Set up and manage the testing phase for new functionality
a. Define the data preparation, the methodology and the planning for each item with the operational teams and the suppliers
b. Coordinate & communicate regularly with business owners/testers
c. Ensure that initial testing (QA) is made & completed on time by the vendors/IT suppliers
d. Ensure that required testing (UAT) is made & validated on time by the business owners/testers
7. Set up and manage the deployment for new functionality:
a. Understanding of the new functionality and its impacts on the operational teams and the partners
b. Definition of the required activities to achieve before, during and after the deployment with the operational teams and the vendor/IT suppliers
c. Creation and/or update of the user guides and any reference documentation shared with the teams
d. Support the operational teams with the use of the new functionality until stable
Person Specification
o Minimum of BS in computer science or similar field
o Experienced analysis, project and or product management experience ideally in the marketing, online and mobile environment
o Experience working in the music industry, preferably in an international role and digital e-commerce
o Experience of working in an digital operational environment with in particular with digital supply chains and the systems, processes and databases to support those
o Experience in managing vendors and third party relations.
o Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction
o Keen eye for detail
o Expert knowledge of the MS Office suite
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
o Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt
o Intellectually curious, tenacious, organised and thorough
o A passionate interest in new technologies, digital and the entertainment industry
o Efficient, organised and stress resistant
o Willing to travel to all Universal Music Group territories
o Ability to work within an international environment
