CMG is looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to provide day-to-day finance support to the Caroline and Priority distribution teams.
Job Functions:
• Provide day-to-day finance support to the Caroline and Priority Distribution teams, including:
• Vendor Maintenance – ensuring that all new/active vendor-suppliers are set-up within CMG systems on a timely basis and per CMG policy
• Purchase Order-Payment Cycle Maintenance – raising purchase orders for recoupable label costs and other divisional expenses, including monitoring the internal approval flow as well as the initiation of special handling payment paperwork as needed
• Budget Creation and Maintenance – establishing departmental projects and budgets within CMG’s systems, including those covering Marketing, A&R/Advances, Overhead, and Intercompany Chargebacks; creation and routing of special reporting as needed
• Intercompany/Third-Party Chargeback Coordination – assist in the identification/allocation of amounts to be charged-back both internally and to distributed label partners , including obtaining approvals and initiating the monthly invoice/settlement process(es)
• Third-Party Distribution Statement Review – coordinate the division’s monthly statement review by routing statements for internal review, performing cursory reviews of rates and other amounts included, and keeping all tracking systems up-to-date
• Special Projects & Other Duties – perform other ad-hoc analysis and provide assistance to the Caroline and Priority Distribution Finance/Accounting teams as needed
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to successfully prioritize multiple tasks based on an dynamic workload
• Solid communication skills and the ability to interact comfortably with employees at all levels of the Company as well as with third-party label partners
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in the use of MS Office programs, including intermediate-advanced Excel skills, and other accounting/financial applications; SAP experience a plus
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work both efficiently and effectively under pressure and/or tight deadlines and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience:
• Minimum two years of experience (cumulative) in a professional environment, entertainment/music industry a plus
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree - either with a major in accounting, finance, or business or degree equivalent experience in one of the three.
