A. Job Summary:
Universal Music Group is currently seeking an International Marketing Director This position is ideal for an up and coming Product Manager/ Marketing Manager with an interest/experience in the international arena. Candidates must be comfortable and capable of working with senior management, both inside and outside of Universal Music Group, as well as artists.
In this dynamic, fast-moving role, you will need to apply strong self-organization and time management skills while demonstrating pro-active initiation and follow through on a broad range of actions. The ideal candidate possesses a firm working knowledge of Marketing and Promotions. In the ever expanding digital world, digital music marketing experience is essential, as well as branding marketing experience. You must be capable of managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
B. Job Functions:
• Implementation of global strategies for the launch of artist projects
• Advising artist management in their strategic planning with international perspective, timelines, and global schedules
• Initiating, monitoring and overseeing the implementation of international affiliates' marketing plans
• Support international affiliates in obtaining the necessary tools to successfully develop artist brands
• Constant communication between artist management, and international affiliates to regularly update them
on development on their projects.
• Guide artist and management through marketing plans and promotional schedules.
• Work closely with Labels and Artist to create International Marketing campaigns
• To develop and oversee promotional and paid tour activities from flights, hotel, visa's, interview and day-to- day issue's that may arise.
• Domestic and International Travel required on a regular basis
C. Job Requirements:
• Degree qualified or equivalent experience
• Extensive music industry experience with an emphasis on consumer-driven marketing
• Minimum 3 to 5 years with Music or Entertainment Company with at least 2 years in a product management
or marketing manager position
• Knowledge and experience with product development process, online marketing, partnership marketing and/or promotion
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, familiarity with Soundscan, Encore/BDS, Insight and specific digital account dashboards
• Great organizational skills with the ability to prioritize based evolving workload
• Strong communication abilities with the ability to write and convey marketing plans/efforts to executives and management
• Expert interpersonal and teamwork skills, including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and the ability to establish quick rapport
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential information and interact with high-level executives
