Department Overview
Commercial Affairs
The key function of the Commercial Affairs team is to co-ordinate all international commercial exploitation spanning across frontline releases, catalogue and classical. This includes digital partner management, commercial campaigns, commercial innovation development, product pricing/systems, international direct to consumer (D2C) and international trade management. The team are also responsible for music product/music format innovation.
Commercial Partnerships
Based in both London and Los Angeles, Commercial Partnerships provide continuous worldwide support to the company’s major digital partners including, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, YouTube, Tidal, Google Play, Deezer and SoundCloud. The team focuses on spearheading global promotions and campaigns, assisting partners in their efforts to deliver compelling and competitive music services around the globe. The team also deliver key internal functions such as best practice training to Universal’s companies worldwide across 58 countries where digital partners have a presence or plans for future rollout.
Main purpose of role
Commercial Affairs (50%)
• Support PA to SVP with Department administration and organisation
• Directing / handling phone calls
• Preparing and distributing documents for weekly and ad hoc meetings
• Managing contact databases
• Assisting with conference organisation i.e. assisting in venue and accommodation sourcing, travel booking
• Greeting external guests for meetings
• Scheduling conference calls for team with Universal affiliates and external parties around the world
• Booking taxis/transport for team and external consultants
• Booking International Travel arrangements for team and external consultants
• Vistaar product pricing updates
• Stationery ordering
• Booking meeting rooms
• General admin and other ad hoc project support as appropriate
Commercial Partnerships (50%)
• Arranging business travel and preparing itineraries
• Processing invoices and expenses
• Coordinating presentations where required
• General team administration- managing stationary orders, managing teams shared content folders
• Arranging and preparing for meetings at a team level
• Maintain & update Distribution Lists
• Spotify Forum Agenda
• Spotify Campaign overviews
• Release Schedule Management
• Manage Apple Artist Images
• Account Infringement Takedowns
• Ad hoc project support as appropriate
Person Specification
Essential
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a good telephone manner
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong IT Skills and knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Windows based packages.
• Ability to prioritise to tight deadlines, with a strong sense of initiative and discretion
• Ability to multitask with excellent organisational skills
• Numerate
• Team player
• Resilient and tenacious
• Enthusiastic, hard working
• A love of music
Desirable
• Knowledge of Macs and Mac based packages
• Experience of working in Music/Media industry
