Description
We are looking for a highly-motivated person experienced at supervising both people and projects. The Manager is responsible for the handling of day-to-day Copyright processes and activities including the Global Registration process. The Manager will review, approve and assign work to the Global Copyright and Data Services teams to proactively deliver on key milestone and timelines.
The position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Copyright.
Job Functions:
• Maintain various copyright table files.
• Monitor and take required action on Version Request Database usage.
• Prepare and manage workload for Data Services Team.
• As requested report volume and performance metrics data to actively monitor performance
• Department operational management support.
• Provide training, as needed
• Assist with the preparation and presentation of statistical data for senior management.
• Responsible for maintenance and updating of copyright procedure documentation.
• Ad hoc analyses and projects, as assigned.
Registration:
• Prepare registration files in CWR and all other formats, as required.
• Review acknowledgement (ack.) files for a number of affiliates and third parties.
Conflicts:
• Monitor and determine follow-up required for the usage of the Conflict Database.
Query Resolution:
• Provide resolution for queries and requests received from UMPG local offices, affiliates and sub-publishers.
• Correspond with colleagues in a clear and timely manner via email and/or telephone.
• Identify major issues requiring support and escalate to senior management.
Film & TV:
• Manage cue sheets processing
• Manage society missing cue sheets files research
System Testing and Development:
• Undertake system software testing, as required.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Familiar with the CWR and other registration formats.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills (including formulas) preferred.
• Strong analytical background. Excellent organizational skills. Detail-oriented. Thinks outside the box
• Willingness to assume responsibility for area and team.
• Motivation to contribute to team’s ongoing development and success.
• Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure with changing priorities.
• Consistently takes initiative, takes responsibility/ownership of tasks.
• Ability to learn quickly and work proactively.
• Ability to work well in a team environment essential.
• Overtime as required.
Experience:
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in music publishing company experience in a copyright role.
Education:
4-year college degree in Business/Accounting or related area strongly preferred
