Description
We are looking for a highly-motivated person experienced at supervising both people and projects. The Senior Manager is responsible for the generation and distribution of territory royalty review reports for local affiliates and assisting our local affiliates in the resolution of royalty review items, client queries and royalty audits.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the market forces in the music publishing industry. They should also have proven experience at developing and delivering work-plans and project timelines with the ability to make the right decisions under pressure.
The position reports to the Senior Director, Global Analytics.
Job Functions:
Management and Communication
• Ability to manage a small team and the required processes of the team for timely delivery of key reports
• Adaptable to deal calmly with changing priorities
• Highly organised with experience of self and team time management
• Build relationships through regular liaison with local affiliates
• Assist local affiliates in the resolution of any royalty review items
• Assist local affiliates with their client queries and royalty audits
• Understanding of the market forces of the music publishing industry
• Identify system short-comings for possible IT developments; working closely with other global administration departments
Management Reporting
• Generation and distribution of territory royalty reviews for local affiliates comprising of discrepancies found for local and foreign repertoire
• Identify any potential problems at local affiliates and/or societies for follow up
• Compilation and circulation of key reports to managers:
• Monthly product file
• UMPG global release schedule
• Global priority artists each year
• Source review and management reporting
• Collection lags by territory
• Black box
Other Projects
• Ad-hoc royalty reviews and client audits
• Global survey on local terms and conditions
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to prioritize and delegate workload within the department
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Strong analytical background
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task, and work well under pressure with changing priorities
• Ability to learn quickly and work proactively
• Ability to work well in a team environment essential
• Consistently takes initiative, takes responsibility/ownership of tasks
Experience:
• Significant experience in music publishing company in a copyright/royalty managerial role
Education:
• 4-year college degree in Business/Accounting or related area strongly preferred
