Job title: Event Manager
Responsible to: Senior Event Manager

Main Purpose of Role
The Events team at Abbey Road Studios is a small, multi-functioning team responsible for the sale, management and delivery of Events throughout the studios.
Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, you will be responsible for managing events of varying size and complexity from enquiry, pre-planning and delivery through to debrief and follow up. As the client's key contact, you will be responsible for all elements of the process, whilst managing Abbey Road's internal resources, external suppliers and all supporting processes.
Event sales and business development:
• A passionate music fan, with a keen understanding of the heritage and unique history of the studios, and its importance to our clients.
• Manage the sales process, including client sales visits, development of client proposals, and presence at trade shows and client showcases.
• Ensure effective management of existing event partnerships and pro-actively explore avenues for new business.
Enquiry & Account management:
• Respond to and manage event enquiries. Deliver proposals for the client's brief and maintain the budget effectively to win new business and retain existing clients.
• Be a continuous point of contact for event clients at all stages of the process, managing operational and administrative functions to ensure that projects are delivered effectively.
• Manage and implement client feedback to ensure consistent quality of service.
• Responsible for the financial overview of an event, from cost proposal, deal negotiation, budget and profitability management, to invoicing, reconciling costs and delivering reports to the finance team.
Budget and process management:
• Manage and report the enquiry pipeline, sales and conversion ratios.
• Manage invoicing process, post-event reconciliation and work fluently with internal studio booking and venue management software.
• Maintain efficient budget management across all areas of event income and implement measures to increase profitability of events.
• Develop and implement an effective CRM process for exiting clients.
People management:
• An experienced people manager, comfortable with maintaining a broad range of internal and external relationships.
• Work closely with a range of internal departments to forge effective working relationships across the business.
• Establish effective relationships with external agencies, maintaining excellent communications at all times with suppliers and venue services.
Person Specification
• A strong, confident and personable communicator, comfortable dealing with high-level clients and suppliers.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, with solid experience working in the events industry, preferably in a venue capacity.
• An intrinsic interest and passion for music, its history and cultural relevance.
• Strong commercial capabilities, negotiating skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent organization skills, comfortable with managing detailed processes across multiple concurrent events.
• Have a strong understanding of commercial objectives, budgeting and financial management.
• Experience in managing a range of different teams and resources, and an enthusiastic, communicator who enjoys relationships with people at all levels.
• Committed to customer service and operational excellence.
• Be innovative, creative and driven to distinguish our events from the competition.
