The Director of Finance is responsible for the consolidation of Plan, Forecast and Actuals for the North American Recorded Music Division. This position interacts with the labels and divisions of UMG to provide variance explanations to Global Finance and ad hoc analysis.
Job Functions:
• Review the monthly results verses plan, forecast and prior year, and communicate variances to Global Finance.
• Manage annual plan and forecasts including:
• Consolidation of North American Region
• Sales reporting by release
• Deck preparation for review by Senior Management
• Analysis of year-over-year trends and financial targets
• Prepare the 5-Year Financial Plan and provide revenue trending guidance to labels
• Provide ad hoc analysis as required
• Manage team of three finance professionals
• Identify and implement process efficiencies and enhancements to improve productivity and quality of forecasts.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple assignments.
• Must think independently and creatively, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Skilled and experienced in getting information necessary to turn analyses around quickly.
• Candidate must possess strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Experience:
• Prior management experience is a must.
• Experience in the entertainment industry, with understanding of recorded music business preferred.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management/Smartview Reporting, SAP and BPC Planning.
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in finance / accounting with ten years of financial planning, audit, accounting, analysis and/or strategic planning is required.
• CPA or MBA experience is a plus.
