. Job Summary: Responsible for the global network operations functions to support the smooth and efficient operations of Network, Active Directory & Messaging Services at UMG. This includes managing the operational relationship nd
of the managed service providers, as well as managing 2 & 3rd level operational support and identity management.
Experience in day-to-day operational management of network vendors in an outsourced environment is the key to success for this role.
A well-proven, deep understanding in Managing Networks and Administration of distributed Active Directory & Messaging infrastructures in a global enterprise environment is also critical to this role.
This individual will work very closely with managed service providers and UMG management team to ensure a consistent service delivery across all parts of the Globe.
B. Job Functions:
Responsible for day-to-day operations and escalation support of Network, Active Directory & Messaging.
General
• Within the UMG global 24x7 enterprise, maintain and implement high quality operational standards, processes and procedures utilizing an ITIL approach.
• Coordinate, schedule and agree changes to the operational network & AD environment with other Division and IT groups, ensuring adequate tests are carried out prior to major enhancements, upgrades, and other infrastructure changes are brought into the operational environment
• Disaster Recovery and backup as it relates to network, active directory & messaging, IP addressing, router configurations, voice services, back office functions such as DHCP, DNS and AD for any Business Units within the Universal Music Group of companies and business partners which have reached agreement for UMG Corporate IT to provide these services
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, performance and overall service.
• Build partnerships and trust with other Information Technology areas, vendor technical staffs, and customers in the Business Units.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to employees as necessary. Measure and appraise performance of employees against job duties, objectives, and projects and manage agreed actions. Set and communicate clear goals and objectives for each team member.
• Stay in touch with what is happening with both our internal and external customers to be able to be pro- active in anticipating future needs and requirements. Evaluate tools and systems for improving the service level while controlling costs.
• Build partnerships and trust with other Information Technology areas, vendor technical staffs, and customers in the Business Units.
Networks
• Manage the Managed Network Services Operations relationship functions. Including the interface to the managed service providers NOC, escalation of operational issues, daily/weekly/monthly Status meetings
• Provide 2nd Level support for UMG network service including remote network access services, disaster recovery and legacy network services following UMG standards, processes and procedures.
• Manage the back-up, recovery and problem resolution process for the legacy Data, Voice and Video networks throughout Technical Services and liaise with Service Provider to ensure that they are providing backup, recovery and effective problem resolution where the Service Provider is acting as primary support.
• Report on Manages Wide Area Network reliability, availability, and performance at the access, hardware, and vendor level.
• Manage the IP address allocations to prevent duplications or conflicts within the networks. This includes coordination with the Business Units as well as selection and maintenance of the tools required.
• Support the Remote Access environment, including managed providers, in-house VPN solutions, and related systems.
Active Directory & Messaging
• Manage day to day operations of Active Directory & Messaging infrastructures including multiple Active Directory forests, and multiple Exchange and O365 messaging environments (including Exchange 2007,
2010, 2013, and O365).
• Level 2/3 proactive and reactive support of Active Directory and messaging infrastructures in a global 24x7 enterprise environment
• Manage high availability and disaster recovery configuration, testing and automation.
• Manage and report on licensing for Microsoft AD, O365, Quest ActiveRoles, NetIQ, etc.
• Effectively use judgment & discretion with respect to managing access to company and user data, including confidential data as required.
• Maintain monitoring systems. Look for opportunities to enhance these systems through automation, etc.
• Provide regular reporting on KPI for the AD & Messaging environments

Experience:
• 10 years diverse experience in Networking and AD & Messaging;
• Experience with following is a huge plus: Amazon AWS Azure Active Directory Microsoft Sharepoint 2010/2013 Microsoft System Center
• International experience is beneficial. Additional languages a plus. Demonstrate a technical proficiency and understanding of the following:
• Telecommunication infrastructures, Network protocols, WAN/LAN/Voice systems
o Telecommunication infrastructures (e.g. LAN, WAN, Voice, Video, etc.)
o Network protocols (IP, SNA, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, RIP, EIGRP, etc)
o MPLS/ATM/Leased Lines/Hybrid WAN
o Telecommunications Hardware (routers, switches, hubs, cabling, etc.)
o Wireshark, Netflow, Riverbed APM toolset
o Voice Over IP and Video Conferencing technologies
• Active Directory
o Technical competence in global support functions specific to a multi-forest Active Directory environment
o High technical level of competence in Microsoft Network Operating System within an enterprise scale environment
o High technical level of competence in Microsoft Products and Microsoft Messaging within an enterprise scale environment
o Powershell scripting for Active Directory and Messaging automation.
o Extensive experience and proficiency in ADFS, DNS, DHCP
o Technical awareness of Directory Services, Directory services replication/synchronization and content management
o Technical awareness of development Interfaces – Kerberos, Active Directory compliance for Schema Extensions, DEA (Directory Enabled Applications), SMTP Query management, LDAP, AD integration security, federation services and Forest system context management for application services. rd
o Technical awareness of integration and management of Microsoft and 3 party products with active directory such as: Citrix, MS SQL, MSMQ, IIS, SPS, DPS, SMS 2003, Exchange 2003, Network Layer components, Backup and storage solutions.
