UMG is seeking an ambitious and eager Director, Marketing as part of a label marketing team with a passion for and knowledge of Dance & Electronic music. This exciting role will include, but is not limited to, the initiation and management of project campaigns, for both artists and the label brand. The Director, Marketing will coordinate between various artists, management, media, marketing partners and label departments.
Job Functions:
Overarching qualities: Brand ambassador, passion, problem solver
1) Nuts & bolts of running everyday operation:
• Timelines for releases/campaigns
• Create the plan for everyone to follow
• Create and maintain marketing budgets
• Weekly one-sheets on projects
• Create agendas for flash/breakout meetings
• Follow up on execution by various departments and provide timely updates Qualities: organized, proactive, efficient in time management, committed
2) Platform outreach and relationship management:
• Pitch releases for streaming service playlisting & other key partners
o Provide marketing drivers for Commerce team
• Create opportunities with media partners
o blog outreach, social platform partnerships and contesting, radio campaign oversight Qualities: confident, self-starter, motivated, strong industry knowledge, curious, competitive
3) Supervise exciting and effective creative to support the music and message
• Develop and coordinate videos and other visual content
• Coordinate events
• Create and develop ideas for the label brand and its various platforms Qualities: creative thinker, good aesthetic, curious, knowledgeable of creative landscape
4) Manage external relationships
• Weekly/bi-weekly calls with artist mgmt
• Develop relationships with industry and the music community Qualities: problem solving, curious, patience, personality
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Strong Administrative, organizational, and creative skills.
• Strong Computer Skills: Spotify, Shazam, MusicMart, PowerPoint, Social Media, Online Advertising, YouTube, Google and Facebook Analytics, Digital Media savvy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast pace under pressure.
• Great social and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to keep information highly confidential.
Experience:
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the entertainment/music industry (EDM/dance insight is a plus).
Education: Bachelor's Degree
