Job Summary:
Capitol Music group is looking for a Director of Label Operations and be a part of the Caroline team located in Hollywood, CA who will oversee and direct aspects of day-to-day operations across the team and label group and liaise with production. The candidate would be responsible for creating and communicating timeline of deadlines across all aspects of the business, monitoring production timelines, maintaining release schedules and inventory flow with larger logistics team. This team member would also be responsible for nurturing and leveraging relationships with the artists and their label & management teams.
Job Functions:
Management of milestone due dates with the delivery of all production elements Related Tasks:
• Manage the scheduling and set up of Caroline's releases with Production, Digital Marketing, Video Production, Sales and International Marketing
• Communicate to responsible parties pending activities / issues requiring resolution
• Ensure regular updates are communicated to the Label partner and UMG Supply Chain
• Manage requests for artwork and music parts, both domestic & international
• Communicate and obtain sign off from Label Finance for all Physical format additions to the Release Schedule
• Manage expectations and feasibility of requests from Marketing and Sales, as well as, external label partners
Physical and Digital Product Set Up Related Tasks:
• When warranted, liaison with International marketing and operations teams on the release plan
• Management of initial new item setup & maintenance within UMG Business Systems – Legacy, Milestone, GDRS & D2
• Manage embargo, pre-order and solicitation timeline process
• Work with sales in order to obtain pricing for all formats build orders for physical formats
• Manage any would be catalog transfers when on boarding a new label partner
Content Delivery to Partners Related Tasks:
• Co-Manage the content scheduled for release through the Digital Supply Chain from the set-up of the products to the delivery of the finished goods at our digital, mobile and video partners
• Liaise with the UMG Digital Supply Chain to ensure that content and data sent into the Supply Chain meets the
required
delivery standards of UMG delivery partners
Coordination with Operations functional groups on all relevant production issues Related Tasks:
• Delivery of release elements to manufacturing vendors through delivery to distribution
• Digital Release management
• Routing artwork to all departments for final approval
• Monitoring vinyl stock and managing production timelines with Supply Chain
• Responsible for DJ Promo Solicitations and advanced music distribution for Caroline Sales/Marketing/Synch teams
Cost analysis support Related Tasks:
• Support cost review to ensure projects are in line with UMG policies and label plans
• Working with vendors for special manufacturing and packaging requirements, negotiating costs
• Communicating the final Transfer Price to International Marketing
• Communicate physical manufacturing costs to the Label Finance Group for approval and sign off
• Monitor and work with team to manage reasonable levels of excess inventory
Coordination with label personnel and support organizations on all relevant production issues Related Tasks: Activities which are required to bring releases to approval status in creating production elements

Job Requirements:

Experience:
• 2 - 5 years of previous Production management experience.
Education:
• Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
