Job Summary: Lead, develop and execute consumer engagement and ecommerce campaigns in collaboration with UMG owned and associated labels. The Director will be the key point person at the label level for all direct to consumer activities, including but not limited to initial artist strategy, product development, marketing and eCommerce. This person must be the organizing force and leader in commercializing direct to consumer campaigns and other integrated artist rights (e.g. ecommerce, experiences, touring). This person must be skilled at influencing and collaborating with all label departments (product managers, digital marketing) and artist management, and will be responsible to organize, plan and collaborate with labels in the execution of marketing campaigns for artists not only across release and touring schedules, but also ''off cycle'' promotions
of artist relevant commercialization opportunities. He/she will be responsible for overseeing and managing all D2C stores including identifying, planning and executing against revenue opportunities for stores, merchandise recommendations, pricing, design, social media, crm and other label marketing initiatives.
Job Functions:
• Lead programs, projects and necessary teams to build, launch and measure effective consumer engagement programs, including but not limited to: artist and label ecommerce stores, VIP and ticketing programs.
• Manage and lead builds of D2C ecommerce stores including product procurement, working with vendors and internal resources.
• Work with Consumer Engagement department heads to develop a strategy and promotional calendar for each artist business and platform.
• Work with label product managers to identify and develop D2C product offerings and promotional calendar, including physical music product, merchandise, experiences, fan club offerings and digital music content.
• Develop, execute and manage D2C marketing plans and budgets.
• Manage communications with labels to ensure priorities are managed for D2C campaigns
• Attend label marketing meetings – representing and supporting D2C in the product planning process
• Responsible for developing strong relationships at the label level and UMG Consumer Engagement
• Ensure quality control on all store set up on the digital and physical supply chain working closely with label technical team to set up and launch stores.
• Ensure approvals from all internal and external parties on design, pricing, manufacturing deliverables and collaboration with D2C ops team on set up.
• Monitor and respond to all analytics relating to D2C marketing & sales
• Develop goals to meet per quarter on email/customer acquisition, customer retention, ROI based on sales and marketing stats
• Help measure, evaluate and prioritize process improvements and make recommendations for changes for more effective and efficient service of label needs and business operations.
• Audits the business process after implementation to ensure that consumer business is achieving revenue, profitability and growth targets, as well as consumer satisfactionalternative platforms, customer segmentation, competitive benchmarking, brand extensions, and industry trends
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Strong ability to collaborate and serve needs of labels and artists, while maintaining a clear vision of what will drive business results in an extremely fast-paced environment
• Creative product development with financial experience a plus
• Knowledge of digital and physical supply chain a plus
• Solid understanding of analytics and data analysis
• Solid understanding of music/entertainment industry
• Pro-active self-starter able to set and accomplish department goals
• Excellent project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and organization
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Excellent presentation skills Experience:
• 6 years successful working experience in music, eCommerce or related fields
• Working experience with eCommerce, CRM, Social Media/Commerce and product management
