Director, Commercial Partnerships (Global)

The Director, Commercial Partnerships will manage business plan for designated high volume/visibility digital partners, including development and execution of sales and marketing campaigns and goals. This person will manage excellent relationships with digital partners, be able to hit sales/streaming objectives and create incremental sales objectives and opportunities. Sales and marketing will involve all facets of UMG digital and mobile products.
Job Functions:
• Primary liaison between UMG/labels and partner to create marketing plans, advertising and original strategies for new releases
• Solicit, market and pitch new releases and product lines
• Manage sales/streaming activities as it relates to goals of the company
• Communicate trends, success, opportunities, and recommendations to UMG/labels
• Successfully manage relationship and shared goals with home office, labels and global team members.
• Create, communicate, maintain and enforce business rules, standards and best practices.
• Solicit, understand, distill and distribute partner’s product, marketing, sales, technology and operational updates.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Oversee special promotional opportunities with partners (advertising, merchandising, marketing, original content partnership activities)
• Successfully manage relationship with partners including verification of: launch, product delivery, punctual reporting and on-going partnership maintenance
• Enhance and improve day-to-day operations with a focus on creating efficiencies.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong digital marketing skills are required
• Solid understanding of digital consumer trends
• Solution oriented thinking a plus
• A good knowledge and understanding of P&L’s
• Ability to think creatively and independently, as well as collaboratively
• Ability to operate in a highly collaborative manner and work in pressure situations
• Excellent negotiating, analytical and people skills
• Polished presentation skills, ability to appeal to variety of customers
• Ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and executives
• Knowledge of Vevo’s processes and analytics to strategize artist development
• Understanding of online/social marketing and advertising
• Solid understanding of digital partner practices and business needs
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of sales or marketing experience at music company or digital partner
• Extensive knowledge of UMG’s digital supply chain and Bitmax
• Experience in selling and marketing in high visibility environment
• Experience managing and directing a team
• Experience with retail sales and marketing strategies through direct professional experience
Education:
• 4 year college, or similar education level preferred.
