Job Summary: Capitol Music Group (CMG) is comprised of Capitol Records, Virgin Records, Motown, Blue Note Records, Astralwerks, Harvest Records, Capitol Christian Music Group, Priority Records and Deep Well Records, as well as Capitol Studios and CMG's independent label services and distribution division, Caroline. Capitol Music Group is based in Hollywood, California in the iconic Capitol Records Tower.
The Coordinator, Community Management role sits within Capitol Music Group's Digital Marketing team, and will be responsible for the digital strategy and development for some of Capitol Music Group's most storied brands. They will also support the VPs of Digital Marketing and Product in an administrative capacity. The successful applicant will create content and develop plans to release that content across our labels' social, web and email properties. As such, this role will require someone who is able to not only quickly learn and speak the language of our various imprints, but also who is a native user of all of the leading and emerging digital/social platforms.
One of the most important functions of this role is to create and develop affinity for our brands, roster and products in the digital space. To this end, the applicant will need to show a dedication to understanding our consumers, consistently delivering engaging content to them, as well as exercising strong judgment when acting as the voice of the brand in a customer service capacity.
This role will support building the digital presence for the Motown and Priority brands. A knowledge and passion for those brands, their artists, fan bases and the genres of hip hop, rap, R&B and soul music will strongly benefit those applying for this position.
Job Functions:
• Create engaging content for our label brands and artists for use across social properties including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, as well as web (Desktop/Mobile) and email.
• Assist the two VPs of Digital Marketing & Product with invoicing, expenses, calendar management and other administrative tasks.
• Develop and execute of content calendar for label social properties.
• Create compelling, data-driven & content-rich artist and label email blasts.
• Build innovative campaigns to further our labels' data capture, sales and advertising goals, and react to social analytics in order to improve the success of these campaigns.
• Construct playlists and content for streaming partners such as YouTube, Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and more.
• Manage label web properties, reading and tweaking content strategy for those properties in reaction to analytics.
• Create tracking links for label and artist campaigns.
• Associated administrative tasks such as invoicing, meeting scheduling and expenses.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
• Expert, native user of social media platforms.
• Effective collaboration with other members of the Digital Marketing team (as well as teams throughout the company)
• Able to read and react to trends in the social and online space.
• Intermediate user of image editing & design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign).
• Quick learner who is able and excited to jump into and master new platforms, apps and services. -
• Able to read basic analytics and develop plans and content in reaction to what the data observed is telling us.
• Strong presentation skills (both written and spoken), creativity and adaptability.
• Interest & excitement in a broad array of genres of music and technology.
• Demonstrated ability to develop content for online use. Experience:
• Experience writing copy and creation of photo/video content
• Intermediate user of image editing & design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign).
• Basic HTML knowledge preferred. Education:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
