About the Role:
We are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Sydney offices. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and supporting a team of Accountants, this position will see you responsible for assisting month end, accounts payable and partner reporting tasks. The successful candidate will relish the opportunity to work in a fun, high performing environment with development opportunities on offer.
Key responsibilities:
• Prepare month-end journals and accruals and undertake balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support preparation of annual budgets.
• Assist internal and external audits.
• Support the maintenance, monitoring and training of staff in company accounting systems.
• Manage Accounts Payable process in conjunction with outsourced AP team including twice weekly payment runs.
• Prepare allocation and coding for monthly invoices.
• Other ad-hoc duties as required.
About You:
• Degree qualified in Finance/Accounting and experience as an Assistant Accountant / Finance Assistant / Accounts Coordinator or other related position.
• Strong computer skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to challenge and improve processes.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills and 100% attention to detail.
