Search for A&R Manager jobs in New York-NY
ULTRA RECORDS, is looking for new A&R managers for both the NY and LA office.
Successful Electronic and Pop Music label, which has created countless worldwide hits and influenced the course of electronic and pop music. We are looking for an A&R who has a deep and diverse knowledge of music, in its current format and historical relevance. An understanding of the ever-changing landscape of music and its genres, forms of consumption and trends are crucial. Fluency in music business and its inner workings of royalties, publishing, licensing are helpful. Above all else, candidates should be passionate about music and have a good understanding of how songs are created. Applicants must be able to aggregate and analyze streaming, sales & radio data to spot potential hit songs. Regularly attend concerts and travel to scout talent. It is imperative that applicant is comfortable meeting and conversing with managers, publishers, other A&Rs and artists.
Away from searching for new talent, candidates will be required to creatively work with the current roster to strategize for upcoming releases, while securing commercially viable top-lines and songs for its respective artist. Must be able to Facilitate writing sessions between Ultra Music artists and other writers or musicians, in addition to fostering and developing newly signed acts.
A&R TASKS
• Must be passionate about music and have a good understanding of how songs are created.
• Have an understanding of music business: royalties, publishing, licensing.
• Have a diverse understanding of music, in its historical context and current value
• Aggregate and analyze daily streaming, sales & radio charts
• Facilitating writing Sessions between ultra artists and writers research, find and acquire new artists for the Ultra Music roster
• Develop and strategize creatively with artists on the current roster
• Secure commercially viable top-lines and songs for acts on the current roster
• Regularly meet and converse with Managers, Publishers, A&R's and Artists
• Regularly attend concerts and scout talent
• Understand the ever-changing landscape of electronic and pop music, its consumption and its genres
• Must be able to travel
• Must be available to work unorthodox hours
