Ubisoft Motion Pictures was created in January 2011 to expand the audience of Ubisoft's successful video games brands by bringing them to film, television and Web series
We're now seeking an experienced Production Manager to help manage our feature film projects. Responsibilities include establishing and curating vendor & staff/crew relations, reviewing budgets and supporting/suggesting best practices from pre-production through delivery. This position will report directly to Ubisoft Motion Pictures' COO. Together, this team is responsible for supervising all aspects of production for our current and upcoming projects.
Location : Culver City, CA
Responsibilities :
The Production Manager will be in charge of the following, on each step of the production:
• Pre-Production
In collaboration with the CEO, the COO, the Head of Development, the Line producer, the Legal Department and the Financial Planning, as well as studios, this person will establish production schedules, workflows and optimized budgets. This person will be part of discussions on all off-set logistics, locations and the way to adapt our IPs on screen.
Specific duties will include:
o Prepare script breakdown and preliminary shooting schedules
o Review creative/scripts and help defining production & post-production budgets and VFX scope
o Create/Help inform and draft production and post-production schedules
o Oversee search and survey of all locations and participle to the completion of business arrangements for the same
o Assist in the preparation of the production with a mind towards efficiency collaboration
o Lead or assist with search and hiring of key production staff
o Determine key vendors to accommodate creative vision and relationships, tax incentives, budget needs, location issues.
• Production & Post-Production
The Manager, Physical Production will be Ubisoft Motion Pictures' official representative on set and the principal contact with the studios.
Specific duties will include:
o Collaborate with internal/external teams to lock budget
o Report costs and status of the shooting on a weekly basis
o Help ensure that productions run smoothly, meet deadlines and stay within budget
o Ensure the entire respect of Ubisoft Motion Pictures guidelines (creative, VFX notably).
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree
- 10+ years' experience with long form production executive management in film production
- Ability to handle a fast paced environment, simultaneously supervising several projects in various points of production (from development through delivery)
- Familiar with the current trends and workflows for both HD and 4K, single cam and multi-cam event
- Access to long roster of high quality vendors and talent worldwide
- Ability to respond after-hours for important, timely or urgent matters
- Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
- Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly
- Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current production process and gear
- International production experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in Avid, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Microsoft Word, Excel, Movie Magic Budgeting, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides and Google Mail.
