Always wanted to run away and join the Circus? Here's your chance!
We are a band of mad scientists, artists, inventors, storytellers and performers, building big games, and telling stories with technology. We're opening a network of Micro-Amusement Parks with the first slated to open in early 2018 in Los Angeles. These permanent facilities are interactive environments for the young at heart with a rotating showcase of the future of fun! We're talking the latest in multi-person virtual reality and mixed reality, crazy group games, molecular mixology and plenty of fire-wielding, laser-gun toting robots.
We are looking for a hands-on, passionate marketing person who loves immersive entertainment, amusement parks, a little bit of irreverence. In this position, you will help define our brand, understand our audience and bring that audience to the micro-amusement parks through live events, digital content campaigns, and guerrilla creativity all while measuring the effectiveness of each outreach.
Who are you? You know how to get people to come to your venue. You are curious about audiences and love to create and test content and ways to connect with them. You jump into the fray and figure things out on the fly, because where we are going there is no map (there may also be dragons, but how doesn't love dragons?!). You are passionate about games, technology, circus nostalgia and ''start-up'' life.
You should know a bit about our brand: it is inspired by the whimsy of the Circus. While we love technology and the Circus (our engineers can be seen juggling and riding unicycles) this is not steampunk. To us, the circus has always been a celebration of human potential and artistry. We believe it celebrates the furthest edges of human capacity and today, that means technological invention and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Senior Team (particularly the CCO, GM of parks and the founders) to define the overall corporate brand.
Create a marketing plan and budget that is focused on new customer acquisition and repeat and referral business
Plan and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, web, email newsletters, video and events.
Understand target audience, competitive landscape and market trends for our upcoming micro-amusement park
Work with our outside PR team to craft strategy, amplify messaging and coordinate and assist in the execution of that plan
Provide data-driven, highly analytical reports that regularly assess the effectiveness of specific campaigns and our marketing program
overall
Work with corporate development to coordinate events and suggest partnerships
Ensure all communications and materials are consistent in terms of style, voice/tone and style/quality
QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of marketing experience, ideally in location based entertainment/hospitality, museum, retail
Outstanding written communication skills and an ability to translate ideas into simple and intuitive message
Tech-savvy and experienced with modern digital marketing tools, video, apps, web, and social
Experience with creating and managing a marketing budget
Experience with event-based marketing
Strong analytical skills
Roll-up the sleeves, can-do attitude with the know-how to make the biggest ''R'' and any amount of ''I''
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in marketing and communication
Must have experience in a revenue driven position where there was accountability for measuring new customer acquisition
Startup experience is a huge plus
Familiarity and passion for immersive entertainment and games is also a bonus
