Search for General Manager, Micro-Amusement Park jobs in Los Angeles-CA
We are a band of mad scientists, artists, inventors, storytellers and performers. We build big games, tell stories with technology. We have three business lines: (1) our LAB is a partner to entertainment, technology and consumer brands that are looking to create something wild and fun, (2) our VR production studio is a one-stop shop for cinematic VR and custom haptics and motion platforms, and (3) our Micro-Amusement Parks (the first slated to open in early 2018) are permanent facilities that showcase the future of fun… we're talking the latest in multi-person virtual reality and mixed reality, crazy group games, molecular mixology and plenty of fire-wilding, laser-gun toting robots.
We are looking for a hands-on, passionate people person general manager who loves (or at least is not afraid of) lasers, fire and robots! In this position, you will help bring our brand to life by leading and managing the day to day operations and motivating the circus clowns that take care of our audience. All while making sure we are responsible and prudent in our business decisions.
Who are you? You are curious about people and love to create and test content and ways to connect to our audience. You jump into the fray and figure things out on the fly, because where we are going there is no map (there may also be dragons, but we love dragons!). You are passionate about immersive experiences, games, technology, circus nostalgia and ''start-up'' life, which here end up being the same same thing!
You should know a bit about our brand: it is inspired by the whimsy of the Circus, but we incorporate that inspiration subtly. While we love the Circus and our engineers can often be seen juggling and riding around on unicycles, this is not steam punk. To us, the circus has always been a celebration of human potential and artistry. We believe it celebrates the furthest edges of human capacity through the promise of technological invention and innovation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Senior Team (particularly the founders and business heads) to implement the brand standards and operating procedures for the location based facility
Day to Day responsibility for the operation of the location based facility and execution of the business plan
Human Resource responsibility for all circus performers including hiring, motivation, scheduling, performance management, coaching and consultation;
Work with our PR and marketing team to articulate opportunities within the operations to drive guest business
Oversee the food and beverage team for entertainment, quality and execution of their goals including financial and brand
Responsible for creating and maintaining an operating budget; develop and implement strategies as needed to stay within budget
Provide daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting packages
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of full service operations experience, ideally in location based entertainment/hospitality with food and beverage facilities; experience managing a bar or nightclub is essential
Outstanding communication skills and an ability to lead a team of young, energetic service workers
Willing to build a brand, work with a corporate team, and lead your location based team to achieve the brand and operational goals
Strong guest service skills
Experience with food and beverage, budgets, human resources and maintenance
Familiarity and passion for immersive entertainment and games
Strong analytical skills
Roll-up the sleeves, can-do attitude with the know-how to make the biggest ''R'' and any amount of ''I''
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in operations and leadership
Startup experience is necessary
