Duties: Assist and support the Manager of Production Finance in all areas, with a focus on the following:
Provide production accounting services for active shows during the pre-prep period as well as for shows in post, including payroll, accounts payable, petty cash and p-cards, journal entries, and trial balance maintenance.
Candidate shall have the ability to assist Manager in providing accurate and timely cost reporting on shows in post as well as the requisite skills to research and analyze cost accounts, and to advise on cost reporting to other in-house assistant accountants if needed.
Provide Manager with administrative and production finance support (such as banking, new show set-ups, software trouble-shooting, 1099 reconciliations, document storage/management program) and special projects as needed.
Qualifications: Minimum 4 years related experience, either in similar position at a studio or production company, or as a 1st assistant accountant in live action scripted production. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. Experience with industry accounting software (Vista, PSL, e.g.), good working knowledge of industry union and guild agreements. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, any 4 year bachelor degree can be considered. Strong ability to multi-task and to work in an environment with critical deadlines and shifting priorities. Strong organization and communication skills (verbal and written).
