Troubleshooting expertise is required for success in this position. The candidate must have a track record of successfully troubleshooting a variety of complex IT systems.
Candidates should have a track record of utilizing a variety of scripting and other automation tools streamline and standardize their system administration activities.
The preferred candidate will have experience designing, deploying and supporting robust, high performance, scalable systems based on open source software and commercial solutions.
The candidate must have a track record of researching, learning and mastering new skills in their employment history. A voracious appetite for learning and mastery of new systems will lead to success in this position.
In selecting a candidate for this position, a preference will be given to those candidates with work experience in supporting one or more of the following technologies: Network infrastructure, network monitoring, performance testing, SAN, StorNext, NAS, NFS, CIFS/SMB, Samba, system monitoring, Splunk, coding for automation, Python, shell script, PowerShell, regular expressions, server virtualization, VMware, SQL, configuration management, security, active directory, LDAP, Apple Open Directory, Windows, OS X, Linux, Chef, Puppet, ZFS, Bacula, OpenStack.
Duties: Turner Studios Engineering is seeking a production engineer to support key IT infrastructure components at its television production facility. This is a support position where excellent customer service skills are required. As part of the Engineering department, collaboration with fellow engineers and customers is a key to success. A key part of successful collaboration includes excellent communication and documentation regarding systems being supported.
This position requires designing, building and supporting a broad range of infrastructure components that are utilized in a live and post production facility. Your system administration skills will be utilized to support systems that include the following: Network, storage, directory services, system deployment, system monitoring, server virtualization, security and configuration management.
Turner Studios is a dynamic and growing facility with ever changing technology. The position requires flexibility to meet the ever changing needs of customers. Support of high bandwidth networks, and large capacity storage systems is necessary to enable production of media which includes uncompressed HD, UHDTV, 4k content and future media formats.
