Qualifications: The qualifications for the VP, Turner People Development position include:
- A minimum of 10 years solid professional experience with progressive human resources organizations -- most recent experience focused in Talent Management, Learning and Development and / or Organizational Development.
- The candidate must have an understanding of all aspects of the human resource function.
- Experience within the Entertainment/Broadcasting/Media industry sector is desirable.
- Proven track record of leading people and work. The ability to inspire and influence a team, as well as peers and human resource counterparts. A history of flawless execution. Track record of building individual and team capability.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully in a fast paced, multi tasking, aggressive and dynamic organization along with significant influence/negotiation skills with senior level executives.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including strong presentation skills with the ability to quickly build relationships and consult with all levels of the organization.
- Advanced project management skills required to drive successful development, execution and delivery of projects. Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving capability, along with the ability to prioritize multiple priorities.
- In-depth understanding of organizational development, leadership and people development, goal alignment processes, performance management and change management. Solid understanding and exposure to employee relations, compensation, benefits, staffing, communications, legal regulations, process re-design and employee opinion/climate surveys.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and motivation with the drive to succeed. A strong value system, personal integrity, business acumen and self-confidence/presence are essential
Education requirements include:
- A Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Psychology or Human Resources a plus) is required. An MBA or MS Degree is desirable, as well as other advanced degrees, JD, PhD.
Duties: Reporting to the SVP of Talent Management, the VP, Turner People Development will work closely with all TBS divisions and departments to set and drive the People Development strategy for the company. Responsibilities include leading the People Development team responsible for succession planning, performance management, employee and executive learning and development as well as organizational development.
The VP will lead and manage a global team of eighteen people to ensure all programs and initiatives impact the growth and development of all employees. This highly visible role is a strategic position that requires a strong ability to execute on critical initiatives and deliver excellent results for the company.
The VP, Turner People Development will strategize with leaders to design and enhance global talent management and development programs, and oversee the delivery of these initiatives. He/She will lead efforts that highlight the importance of talent management and diversity as drivers of employee engagement, retention and career development.
The VP, Turner People Development will design and implement the overarching strategy and long-term plan with emphasis on performance management, succession planning and talent pipeline development. Work closely with HR & business leaders to develop targeted learning solutions, including programs, coaching, assessments, mentoring (etc.) that create opportunities for career development at all levels. Create & manage related personnel and programmatic budgets.
The VP, Turner People Development will develop organizational change management capability to bridge business and talent strategies. Provide human capital planning expertise to HR and business leadership to enable talent forecasting that will keep pace with strategy and business change overall.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- In partnership with HR Technology, further develop systems to enable the implementation of development solutions. Serve as a thought leader in identifying technology investments, as well participant in the design, development and implementation of new talent solutions.
- Leverage talent and development metrics, as well as thought leadership and emerging practices in the field to inform decision-making and to identify critical priorities.
- Lead the implementation of a new development brand and manage ongoing communication strategy designed to promote the broad ranges of solutions offered to the global organization.
- Provide leadership, management, coaching and development to development team and serve as a role model for client partnership. Build a global team with the HR leads in EMEA, Asia Pac and Latin America. Continually assess and evolve org capability and structure to drive individual and team performance.
- Represent Turner's priorities and align with Time Warner on talent and development related strategies and initiatives. Partner closely with Time Warner on the execution of succession planning and executive development.
