Qualifications: 5 years experience within HR or related field to include exposure to performance management, compensation, employee relations, recruiting, benefits, HR policies and procedures, training and development, and program/project management
Bachelor s Degree required and/or equivalent work experience. (degrees in Business Administration, Psychology, or Human Resources a plus); PHR Certification a plus
Business experience outside of HR and/or in a professional services industry or Broadcasting/Entertainment industry a plus
Experience working in a matrix and/or shared service organization a plus; Proficient with Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft desired.
Duties: HR Generalists are responsible for delivering quality HR service by performing as a business partner and advisor to the respective client groups they support. This role generally supports entry and mid-level employees and managers and oftentimes collaborates with HR Specialists on various programs and initiatives. The HR Generalist will be the first point of contact responsible for communicating programs to employees to ensure they support business needs.
HR Generalists serve as the front line contact for all general HR matters; delivers training; runs, interprets and analyzes reports from PeopleSoft; facilitates employee transactions; applies and interprets HR policies and practices; counsels employees on internal and external training alternatives for their professional development; partners with Organizational Design specialists on solutions related to the development of teams; partners with Recruiting on the hiring process and applies compensation principles when advising clients.
The HR Generalist will work closely with HR management on providing coaching to clients on managing throughout all stages of the performance management cycle; handling employee relations issues; and strategizing on employee leadership and development needs. HR Generalists will partner with HR Managers and Compensation specialists to review job descriptions and drive performance management.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for working with their HR team and clients to execute and manage on learning programs such as mentoring, rotational, leadership or otherwise and to implement and maintain those programs on a regular basis. They will also be responsible for the diversity and student programs such as the internship programs including partnering with recruiting, communicating with the client and making recommendations for improvement.
