Duties: The Turner Legal Department (Burbank) is looking for an experienced entertainment paralegal to handle various tasks relating to development and production of original scripted TV programming. Responsibilities include drafting or reviewing and negotiating talent and production agreements, including writer, director, performer and producer agreements, assignment agreements, certificates, releases, location agreements, indemnity agreements, clip licenses, special effects agreements, vendor agreements, termination and turnaround agreements, conducting chain of title and rights analysis, preparing and updating rights and contract summaries and filing financing statements. Position may also involve unscripted TV development and production work.
Qualifications: Position requires a four year college degree with a minimum of four years of directly relevant paralegal or similar professional experience in scripted TV production. Experience drafting, negotiating and analyzing production legal agreements and analyzing and summarizing chain of title and other rights agreements required; familiarity with guild agreements desired; experience in unscripted TV production a plus. Must have exceptional interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage attorney and client demands appropriately while working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple projects simultaneously is the norm. Strong initiative, flexibility and ability to work autonomously, while also being a strong and supportive member of the team, are essential. Experience at a reputable law firm, studio or network preferred.
