What will you be doing?
In this role as HR Manager, you will serve as the main point of contact for CNN employees across multiple client groups; generally mid-level employees and management. This is a true generalist position as you will touch every part of HR and consult with the client in these areas. Day to day responsibilities are:
• Oversight and implementation of human resources policies, programs and practices, which may include: staffing, compensation, training, performance management.
• Address and lead all employee relations issues within the client group.
• Actively participate in the recruiting process, i.e. attend kick-off meetings, check-in with recruiters and clients.
• Communicate and inform business of HR initiatives, project managing efforts, and ensuring program alignment with culture of business unit.
• Build business knowledge and credibility by participating in client meetings, reading industry publications and job shadowing.
• Partner with Turner People Development to deliver relevant and client focused learning and development opportunities.
• Partner with compensation on market pricing initiatives.
• Partner with OD Consultants to determine appropriate assessments, e.g., 360s, MBTI, for management to enhance leadership. Also, partners with the OD group to determine intact consulting requests (e.g., team development, strategy planning, reorganization, change management, etc.) and facilitates as needed.
What do you need to be successful?
We are looking for a consultant, someone who can communicate quickly and effectively with clients who have built their brand on doing the same. Responsiveness is critical because that's what they give and that's what they expect.
• 8 years related experience as human resources professional to include responsibility for or exposure to employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, and policy input or development. SPHR or PHR certification is a plus.
• 3 years managerial responsibility for staff or related coaching experience (multi-location management a plus). Prior supervisory experience.
• Business related experience outside of HR is desirable; Broadcasting/Entertainment industry a plus.
• Prior experience working with and influencing senior executives in a major corporation is critical.
• Bachelor's degree preferred (degree in Business Administration, Psychology and Human Resources a plus).
