Duties: Studio Camera: Operates robotic camera systems including initial targeting, set up and trouble shooting. Able to multitask by operating several cameras simultaneously and communicating across all CNN networks. Steadicam Operation: JIB Operation, run flash studios and subcontrol, including filling scenic plasmas, communicating & coordinating with show teams, robo and pre-set lighting. Camera Chipping and Shading: Utilizes a chip chart, vector scope and oscilloscope to set cameras to optimal performance and shade cameras during live and taped productions. Studio Preparation: Maintains Studio equipment and organizes tools necessary for daily production. Monitoring and reporting equipment issues and following through to resolution. Handles special projects as assigned such as: team leader during remote productions,. Establishes and monitors in-depth training to less knowledgeable staff and troubleshoot and train on new technologies. Able to train new employees. Flexibility of schedule. Adapts to changing work schedules and work assignments. Fills in when necessary for all Studio Operations I duties. Demonstrates proficiency in job related software applications I.E. (iNews, My Career, Remedy, SOS reporting, Outlook, CROSS). Utilizes GO time and maintains GO time log and spends time broadening knowledge of core duties
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in broadcast television environment (cable network, affiliate station, production house) engaged in multiple camera production. News production preferred. Proficient in using a studio robotic camera system. Proficient at camera shading and chipping. Knowledge of routing systems and transmission. Seasoned professional, able to work well with others, strong work ethics and exercises diplomacy. Willing to work varied hours and weekends as needed. Advanced knowledge of at least two of the following: studio Camera, jib camera, steadicam, video shading, studio set up. Good organizational and documentation skills coupled with the ability to work and communicate well under pressure and extreme deadlines. Minimum educational requirements include: Bachelors Degree or in lieu of, proven job experience in excess of the minimum requirements. Must possess a desire to learn new technologies, processes and/or procedures as they are implemented and a willingness to work in other areas as assigned. Able to communicate effectively with all internal partners. Must exhibit great attention to detail. A team player. Be able to prioritize and service multiple requests. Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills. News awareness/interest in current events and interest in the product are essential. Shows strong leadership skills. Ability to take and follow instruction under pressure or deadlines. Can work independently within a self-directed work group. Good communicator with the ability to make wise decisions in absence of detailed instruction. Demonstrates and practices professional maturity. Overall positive attitude and ability to work will with others. Flexible scheduling availability.
