What part will you play?
This position reports to the Engineering Shift Supervisor and is required to work on any of the three 24/7 shifts performing preventive and demand call maintenance work.
This individual will be experienced in diagnosing and repairing equipment failures such as automation, servers, routers, on-air switchers, graphics and other diverse broadcast systems.
What will you be doing?
He or she will maintain the various backup servers and storage devices to ensure the continued data protection of media assets and provide support for other departments needing connections and access to servers and networks.
A good understanding of the operation, maintenance and design of the various networks, routers, storage systems, fiber links, and ancillary equipment throughout the facility is required.
The person filling this position should be familiar with various network protocols such as TCPIP, DHCP, FTP, Active Directory, DNS, SNMP, browse proxies, firewall technologies, and Cisco systems.
A working knowledge of MS SQL, Centura, Linux, are also key, as well as a basic understanding of the network technical specifications used throughout the facility.
This individual should display a willingness and propensity to learn new skills and be able to share their knowledge with less experienced engineers as well as demonstrate the ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
From time to time this individual will also work with a team of engineers in fulfilling small project work.
The individual is required to produce comprehensive work order reports.
What do we need from you?
3 years of experience as a support engineer in a state-of-the-art television broadcast organization.
Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in installation, repair and maintenance of server based on-air play-out systems.
Minimum 3 years of experience with broadcast automation systems.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with broadcast related computer networking.
