Full Time Paid Internship
The 2015 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL and TRIBECA FILM Publicity Office is looking for creative, hardworking and responsible college students and recent grads (2013, 2014) that have a strong interest in film, publicity and film festivals.
Interns are an integral part of the publicity team. Responsibilities include:
• Drafting fact sheets, recap sheets, press kits and press breaks and press pitches
• Researching niche media for outreach
• Managing the department database
• Coordinating materials from films requested
• Aiding in running press screenings
• Assisting with press events, interviews and other film activities.
• Assisting Festival publicists with day-to-day assignments
• Covering and doing press check-in for pre-Festival screenings and Festival events
• Assisting Festival publicists on press days and red carpet events
Ideal candidates must be dedicated, detail-oriented and eager to assist the department's overall operations. This is a great position for someone with a strong desire to learn the inner-workings of a major film festival and film publicity.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate for this internship will have had some previous experience in public relations - preferably in the film or entertainment industry - as well as schooling in the communications or film studies fields. Excellent writing ability is a key competency in this internship. Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required as is a general proficiency with computers and database software (e.g., FileMaker Pro). Candidates should be savvy with online media and social media platforms along with being detailed oriented, dedicated and energetic. Strong fluency in a foreign language is a PLUS.
HOURS
You should expect to spend (5) 8-hour days during the hours of 10 am to 6 pm in the structured activities in the Festival press office.
