TriCoast Worldwide, a full-service media company specializing in international distribution, is looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic, and reliable intern to start as soon as possible. The intern will report to the director of acquisitions, providing assistance to the acquisitions and development department.
Duties include but are not limited to:-Cover incoming scripts and screeners-Update and maintain internal film tracking database-Conduct preliminary market research on target demographics-Research comparable titles for potential acquisitions-General prep work for festivals and markets-Identify upcoming titles for departmental consideration. The ideal candidate should have strong writing and communication skills, be highly organized, and demonstrate a working proficiency with Word and Excel (or Pages and Numbers).
Most importantly, the ideal candidate should be passionate about independent cinema, as a bulk of the expected work will consist of coverage for independent titles seeking worldwide sales representation. Candidates are expected to commit a minimum of two days per week, for a minimum of 8 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for college students or recent grads to develop business skills and gain insight into the industry, while also providing a valuable, appreciated, and generative service.
You will NEVER be asked to perform typical 'intern' tasks that are inessential to the process of film acquisitions (coffee run, errands, photocopies, etc…).Interested candidates should apply via email. Applications should include a resume and a brief cover letter expressing not only why you think you'd be a valuable asset to the acquisitions and development team at TriCoast, but also what you expect or desire from an internship experience. Qualified candidates will be contacted within a week in order to schedule an interview.
Thank you!
