SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE...
- Manage departmental staff and work flow for Special Services & Royalty Compliance department.
- Assist Director with managing day to day workflow, report deadlines and deliverables of department staff.
- Execute decisions and assign work to staff in the absence of Director, deputizing for the Director.
- Knowledgeable with the details of entire royalty book of business including, each client respective work area, their primary earning sources, applicable royalty accounts and associated contracts.
- Review Royalty Statement Tracking Reports prepared by staff to determine progress by staff and assist recovery efforts.
- Provide 2nd review of Royalty Compliance and Special Services reports prepared by staff and verifying accuracy of report contents.
- 2nd review of client commission reports and push up to Director of Business Management for final review.
- Help and aid Director in developing markets and programs for key strategic areas of growth.
- Prepare royalty contract summaries of royalty calculation terms to be used by the transactions staff for review of royalty statements and push up to Director for sign off.
- Project manage full audit, desk audit and specials services deliverables of staff.
- Ensure staff deadlines are met.
- Responsible to work independent and team-oriented. Will demonstrate strong interpersonal relationships with business partners, to include but not limited to effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Exercise analytical skills; ability to make decision based on information provided and understand the ramifications of each decision for the team and company.
SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS...
- BS or BA with an emphasis on Music Business or Recording Industry Management in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or BBA (Music Business emphasis) with strong academic record.
- 8 years of royalty audit, royalty accounting (publishing/artist) or royalty income tracking.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, highly functional with Excel.
- Experience using Counterpoint Music Maestro, Record Maestro or other entertainment royalty software.
- 2-4 years of managerial experience.
