Trailer Park is looking for an ambitious and imaginative researcher to join our Integrated Strategy team. This individual will report to Strategists and the Director of Integrated Strategy, but will require the ability to self direct and think critically to support research and strategic initiatives in a digitally converged world – for both consumer brands as well as entertainment properties.
The Jr. Research Strategist is responsible for providing accurate and agile research, analyzing it, and presenting findings. They must be strongly drawn to collaborative work, able to think on their feet, and always be learning.
Essential Job Functions
• Collaborate and support in research initiatives with strategist and analysts
• Own, design and conduct digital social listening and trend research initiatives
• Design research briefs, questionnaires and discussion guides
• Support research stimuli
• Uncover powerful insights
• Assemble and present research reports
• Explore new ways to research brand, category, culture and audiences (specifically fandoms)
• Help to turn data into compelling stories
Knowledge / Skills
• Keen understanding of the impact of technology on culture and human behavior
• Strong interest in fandoms across different industries, film, TV, music, videogames, etc.
• Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills ( book smarts street smarts)
• Familiarity and understanding of research methodology in the digital space (i.e. online surveys, panels, social networks, ethnographies, one-on-one interviews, digital cultural anthropology and usability).
• Able to break down complex problems in a simplified, creative, and innovative way
• Willing to ask different questions to get to different answers
Job Related Qualification Standards
1-2 years of research / strategy experience in the entertainment or advertising industry
• Passion for Pop Culture & Entertainment, focusing on how and why people interact with it
• Solid experience with tools like: Crimson Hexagon, Simmons Experian, Survey Monkey, Nielsen @Plan, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.
• Motivated to apply the rigor the job requires while having the courage to trust your guts
• Ability to stand up for your own ideas about what works, what doesn’t, and why
• Be intrinsically optimistic about always finding a better solution
• Capacity to handle a wide variety of tasks and assignments in a dynamic fast paced work environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
• Advanced skills in Keynote – a must! Other design skills a plus
