Internship - Social Media (Summer)
Overview:
Department/Internship Overview:
Internships within Trailer Park’s Social Media team will provide participants with a creative, enjoyable, and informative experience. During their internship, participants will be given an opportunity to learn about developing a social media campaign for entertainment properties from concept through delivery. They will be given the opportunity to participate in the creative process, planning and research, activation of the campaign, and implementation of the social media strategy and tactics.
Eligible students must be rising juniors or seniors enrolled in a degree granting university or college. All internship positions are paid.
Learning objectives:
• Exposure to the process of an overall Social Media campaign.
• Work with various team members within the Social Media department to get expertise knowledge in research, planning, analytics, strategy, and community management.
• Learn client services and engagement skills.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with Social research on potential and current clients; behavioral tendencies, media insights, attitudes towards entertainment properties.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions with the social media team on upcoming campaigns.
• Partner with a Community Manager in learning how to develop a content calendar; drafting copy and reviewing available content (images/videos) for posts/tweets.
• Assist with collecting insights on performance and results of campaign output.
• Participate in, and have the opportunity to lead, the Weekly Social Standup, a meeting in which our team shares social media news.
Projects:
• Interns will be encouraged to assist with the conception and execution of (at least) one social media campaign during their time with the Social Media team.
• Interns will help with research with trends within existing and new social media channels.
Preferred skills:
• Knowledge of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.Knowledge of Mac and PC formats, Word, Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint, and Email
• Knowledge of social tools and monitoring and publishing platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Hashtagify, Latergramme, Sprinklr, Crimson Hexagon, and Radian6) is a plus.
• Ability to function as a team player and collaborate with others to achieve daily workload goals
• Must have excellent, clear, and tactful communication skills, and work well in a fast paced environment
• Would prefer candidates who have an interest in entertainment. Also a plus are interests in television, film, technology, music, comics, video games and popular culture, multimedia, social media platforms and/or mobile applications.
