Position Overview:
Total Traffic & Weather Network in Philadelphia has an immediate opening for a part-time Traffic Producer. Candidate must have a working knowledge of Philadelphia, South Jersey and Northern Delaware roadways, and live within close proximity to the Philadelphia area. Successful candidates may have previous experience as a producer for a traffic service or have an interest in data collection through means of digital resources and social media sites.
Producers are called upon to work drive times, nights, weekends and holiday hours as our hub provides complete information for our region 24/7/365. We are looking for eager applicants ready to grow in a fast paced and demanding media environment.
We will train the right people on our technical systems and internal procedures. Experience is important, but most important is the ability to get the job done right and meet deadlines.
As a Traffic Producer you will:
• Find, manage and enter real-time traffic information
• Find information utilizing our company's many resources, including sensor data, cameras, web sites, maps and calling local sources
• Manage the information entails, keeping all the facts straight, making sure details are accurate and current and tracking any changes in each situation
• Enter information by working within our proprietary computer system
Qualifications
• Knowledge of the Tri-State Area
• Experience with traffic data preferred
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines
• Adapt to quickly changing information and environment
• Ability to learn quickly and take direction well
• Computer and digital editing proficiency
• Must be proficient with social media, web search and creative use of digital resources
• Outgoing personality
• Work well individually or within a team
• Able to work part-time schedule- 25 hours per week
• Ability and willingness to work any shift 24/7 and holidays
