Time Warner Cable Sports currently seeks a Studio Jib Camera Operator for its Regional Sports Networks in Southern California. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position Summary of Role: Under the direction of a Show Director and Technical Director the Studio Jib Camera Operator is responsible for operating a jib camera to convey images for network broadcast. The individual in this role will follow action closely and choose shot angles and distances as well as working from a shot list. Primarily works in studio, but may occasionally travel and work outdoors. The candidate may also participate in other Studio/PCR and ENG camera job functions.
Essential Job Functions: · Follow a shot list, while choosing the angles and distances.
· Understand the needs of the viewer and imagine the visual flow that will make sense.
· Listen carefully to show dialogue and match the shots to the action.
· Shooting, lighting, producing and editing media events, player interviews, features and other specialty shoots.
· Proficient knowledge and understanding of video/audio signal flow within the facility.
· Administrative duties include proper timecard entry, generating daily reports and communicating with management daily.
· Lead and participate in on-going training programs and initiatives.
Position Requirements: Operations (Tactical Responsibilities)
· Choose and frame each shot, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses, filters and camera settings to achieve the effects desired by the show director/producer.
· Adjust positions and controls of cameras, and related equipment to change focus, exposure and lighting.
· Confer with producers, sound and lighting technicians and other crew members to discuss assignments and determine necessary workflow, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements.
· Set up and perform live shots for broadcast.
· Test, clean and maintain broadcast equipment, including testing microphones, to ensure proper working condition.
· Direct and utilize studio staff to help achieve on-air shots necessary to uphold a high production value.
Knowledge & Experience (Technical Responsibilities)
· Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of telecommunications systems.
· Experience with Sony XDCAM, DSLRs, large sensor cameras, broadcast, cine and prime lenses strongly desired.
· Familiarity with editing to include understanding how to move the flow of images, even limited on-screen action, to create a desirable viewing experience for the customer.
· Experience with Dalet and Final Cut Pro highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Formal Education & Certification
· College diploma or university degree in the field of Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, Engineering and/or 7 years equivalent work experience.
Travel Requirements:
· Limited travel based upon project and programming needs.
Leadership/Staff Accountability:
· No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.
Personal Attributes
· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
· Exceptional communication and listening skills are essential.
· Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

· Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Work Conditions
· Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
· Overtime may be required in meet deadlines.
· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
· On-call availability 24x7, 365 days a year.
· This is a part-time, non-benefited position
· This is a temporary position working through Time Warner Cable's preferred payroll provider
