Business Manager
Thomas St John Inc offers financial services to a client base consisting of individuals and businesses within the music, entertainment, and sport industries. The Company is based across three main offices in London, the Netherlands and Los Angeles with three core departments; Business Management, Accountancy, and Tax.
We are currently looking to appoint a dynamic Business Manager with outstanding client relationship skills to provide strategic solutions to a portfolio of (artistic) clients.
This role requires someone with the ability to understand a client's financial affairs at a micro and macro level; the right individual must know and understand what the clients' key performance indicators are, they must be highly commercial and able to understand each client, both personally and professionally. The right candidate should have a good grasp of management accounting, accounting, tax and business management services. In many cases we look after the whole of our client's affairs, from book-keeping and arranging bank payments through to tax advice, strategic career planning and concierge services.
We expect the right candidate to be sufficiently experienced, in each core competency to be able to feel where there is an issue, even if they can't quite identify it and bring in one of our specialists in the discipline. Conversely, we also expect the right individual to be able to see and exploit opportunities for both the clients and for the Thomas St John Group generally.
The Business Manager will also act as the internal client, translating complex client's needs to the production team, ensuring that services are delivered to match client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for growing, maintaining and monetizing a portfolio of clients, to include full consideration and understanding of the services we offer and ensuring the client and relevant stakeholders are happy with the support provided by TSJ
- Being personally accountable for efficient delivery of client-centric commercial solutions to service client needs
- Ensure that clients are satisfied with their experience and recognize the value of the Thomas St John services
- Ability to allocate client projects to our production team through CCH; manage work steps and process notes with our internal CCH system
- Agreeing service delivery deadlines with clients and ensuring these deadlines are achievable by the production team
- Ability to agree fees with clients and production team and manage the expectations of clients in relation to fees where a job is more complex or involved than first envisaged, ensuring 100% recovery and service satisfaction
- Leading subject matter expert in the products and services offered through Thomas St John
- Participate in networking opportunities and develop relationships with agents, managers, production companies and other industry professionals;
- Required to meet annual sales revenue targets as discussed and agreed with line manager
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years' experience working in a management or production industry, within a sales or client services capacity
- Bachelor's degree
- CPA is highly desired
- Engaging communication style and well-rounded account management experience
- Charismatic, confident and personable commercial leader
- Ability to translate customer needs and financial goals into department-level deliverable
- Acts as the 'customer expert' for the organization, drawing on a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace and products available
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to listen, negotiate and adapt style where necessary
- Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
