An exciting opportunity is available at The Third Floor, Inc. for an Accountant. The Third Floor was founded to help inspired filmmakers realize their creative visions. By creating highly detailed previsualizations, our animators & artists hold an impactful role in the film-making process. At The Third Floor, we work together on some of Hollywood's biggest films.
The Accountant is performing activities related to the analysis and consolidation of the worldwide results of TTF and subsidiaries. This position reports to the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for all balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Prepare journal entries related to the month-end close
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of all intercompany activity
- Review intercompany reconciliations for any irregularities
- Prepare foreign exchange gain/loss entries (realized and unrealized)
- Mange all international tax balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate reporting of service tax liabilities
- Prepare minority interest entries
- Manage consolidation process
- Prepare and post tax provision entries
- Ensure monthly close is completed in a timely fashion and prepare monthly financial reports
- Preparation of monthly department specific budget vs. actual reports with accompanying variance analysis
- Manage fixed asset listing and depreciation schedule and post related entries
- Assist in creating annual budgets
- Maintenance and updating of report templates
- Assist in documentation of internal controls related to financial reporting
- Work with external accountants to provide support for the company tax returns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Big 4 and entertainment industry experience preferred
- Experience in consolidations
- Knowledge of Quickbooks or similar software
- Proficiency with Excel
- Ability to prioritize and plan to meet deadlines
- High level of attention to detail
