The Recording Academy (The GRAMMY Awards)
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the accounts payable functions for both the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc. (NARAS) and NARAS Properties, Inc.
Responsibilities include:
• Review invoices to ensure proper approvals and general ledger coding
• Efficient data entry for invoices
• Set up and maintain vendor records
• Process semi-weekly check runs in a timely manner
• Effectively file paper invoices and vouchers
• Maintain orderly and complete filing system
• Mail and distribute checks
• Assist AP Supervisor with researching accounts payable discrepancies
• Provide customer service to various Departments and affiliated entities as it relates to accounts payable
• Assist with performing monthly close
• Maintain 1099 files for appropriate vendors
• Provide daily various accounts payable reports, as requested to management
• Ensure effective communication with all customers and vendors, both internally and externally
• Work events for The Recording Academy and its related entities
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
• Four year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related business field required.
• Internship or other experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office with strong working knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of The Financial Edge or similar accounting systems.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts with accuracy.
• Attention to detail with solid grammar and punctuation skills.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure of tight deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all personnel in a professional manner.
