Details: The Associate Editor, Video Distribution role will have primary responsibility for updating and curating About com YouTube Channels. The Associate Editor will collaborate with the Video Team on YouTube and other video-related social media efforts to help build user communities and respond to user feedback. This role will collaborate with the team on planning and creation of new video content types that reside on About com YouTube channels, and will be directly involved in the implementation and maintenance of new video content distribution platforms. This role reports to the Executive Producer, Video.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate new submissions and updates of About com video content to About com YouTube Channels and other distribution platforms.
• Curate user discussions and build user communities on About com YouTube channels, and work with the Video Team to address user questions and feedback.
• Facilitate creation and maintenance of new About com YouTube channels, as well as creation and maintenance of playlists within those channels.
• Track key video metrics and create regular reports on distribution channel performance.
• Collaborate with Video Team on planning of new video content types, including web series.
• Assist with evaluating new potential distribution platforms, and help implement new video content distribution agreements.
• Assist with video-related updates to other About social media efforts, such as Facebook and Twitter.


Qualifications:

• Must have 2-3 years hands-on experience with updating and maintaining a branded YouTube channel, and knowledge of the current social media landscape and upcoming trends.
• Must have experience with multiple video platforms, such as Vimeo and Hulu, and have some knowledge of mobile and OTT distribution.
• Must have at 1-2 years experience creating or editing online content.
• Must be well-versed in current online video trends and concepts, and comfortable working with video content management tools.
• Some experience with video production and post-production is also essential.
• Strong remote communication skills via email, phone, conference calls, etc. Ability to give direction and feedback over email.
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and familiarize self with a variety of new topics quickly; great editorial instincts.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
