Overview
The Lighting Design Group, an internationally recognized broadcast and entertainment lighting design firm in New York City, seeks an experienced full-time purchasing manager. The position is responsible for the efficient purchasing of equipment in support of LDG's project managers and technical project manager.
Reports to: Vice President of Production
Responsibilities:
1. Assist designers and project managers in translating designer equipment needs into viable equipment lists.
2. Price equipment lists for project budgeting by project managers.
3. Review equipment lists with a critical eye.
4. Make equipment purchases once approved by clients.
5. Manage and develop relationships with vendors and manufacturers.
6. Proactively negotiate and manage pricing.
7. Support the technical project manager's oversight of LDG-owned equipment.
8. Proactively communicate with production department (PMs) and accounting department to ensure that projects run and close out smoothly.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience purchasing equipment in the entertainment industry.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and database software.
• Strong work ethic; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; outstanding team player.
