PR Manager for Marketing Agency
Basic Function: Handle day-to-day public relations efforts on behalf of dFm clients. Focus on growing brand awareness through various media channels, securing product placement as well as feature opportunities for clients; in addition to supporting clients in all activities, campaigns, special projects, events, and presentations. Develop targeted press strategies per client as well as strategic creative thinking. Works closely under the Director of PR& Communications and oversees the PR Account Coordinator and/or Assistant.
Manage a variety of active accounts in lifestyle and various other verticals i.e. fashion, technology, hospitality. Point of contact for press / clients/ accounts. Provide exceptional client service. Ensure expectations are met/exceeded. Identify new business opportunities to pass on to the creative departments. Work with Head of Communications to develop targeted press and marketing strategies, incorporating professionalism and strategic creative thinking.
Essential duties:
Strategic planning and execution for achieving client goals
Composing press releases
Updating Client bios or written material
Pitching features and news stories
Conducting market research
Daily Communication with media outlets, editors, etc.
Manage celebrity outreach, pulls/loans and stylist appts + deskside appointments
Manage client accounts as well as support on select team accounts
Proactively communicate with clients on a daily basis
Pitch feature stories to targeted print and digital media and compiling press releases
Brainstorming new press vehicles, developing cross-promotion ideas and brand building opportunities for further client promotion
Responsible for building seasonal strategies
Provide managerial support and delegation to Coordinator and/or Assistant
Monitor press coverage
Orchestrate press events, mailers, appointments, shows, collection launches
Commit to editor entertaining
Finalize weekly and/or monthly activity reports
Develop targeted media lists depending on client and project
Qualifications & Skills:
At least 4 - 5 years of public relations experience, preferably some in fashion
Bachelor's degree
Proven media relationships
Strong interpersonal communications skills and excellent writing skills
Ability to manage several clients at a time and their individual needs
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Slack, and Cision and familiarity with Fashion preferred
Join annual tent-pole/media team in creating tent-pole opportunities for the agency including identifying new opportunities
Ideate and articulate creative strategies for brands (agency + tent-pole clients)
Actively participate in NY based projects including events, in person client meetings and more
Communicate with LA based office and manage PR/Communication efforts
Outreach, confirm business leads and develop relationships with potential clientele
Coach, motivate and inspire the DFM team
Embody the DFM culture, model the way for all team and partners
Work cohesively with social, influencer, and PR colleagues
Manage projected budgets and coordinate with internal accounting systems to streamline processes
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and ongoing interest of popular culture, 'discovery' and out-of-the box campaigns
Proven experience of working in a fast paced environment
Some travel may be required
Key Performance Indicators
Developing campaigns and events with desired outcomes (on time and on budget)
Ability to manage significant workloads and effectively prioritize projects autonomously
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
Communicating brilliantly on all activities, both internally and externally
