As a Member of the 3D Story Support Team, the Technical Assistant is responsible for the smooth running of the 3D Story Department: Scene Setup; Technical Support; Asset QC and Packaging.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for learning, understanding, and assisting with both technical and non-technical issues for the 3D Story Department Pipeline so as to assist the artists with any issues that they may have.
• Under supervision, perform the required support tasks when delegated from senior team members.
• Assist in Scene Setup and Episodic Packaging.
• QC and problem solve for issues of all media coming into, being used by, and then delivered out of the 3D Story Department.
• Contribute to the success of both the 3D Story Creative and Pipeline Department through actively supporting operational tasks as well as identifying and addressing potential issues/problems.
• Learn and follow the naming conventions and standards.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree and/or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in animation
• Must have demonstrated expertise in the Maya software package.
• Demonstrated programming skills: Python and Mel.
• Strong desire to learn the process of an episodic animated production.
• Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interest in animation story process preferred.
• Working knowledge of a Unix-like operating system also preferred.
• Ability to communicate at both a technical and non-technical level with colleagues.
• Ability to receive feedback and make adjustments.
