DMG also releases family music and film and television soundtracks such as the Oscar- and Grammy-winning Frozen soundtrack, the Grammy-nominated Guardians of the Galaxy, chart-topping soundtracks including Moana and Beauty and the Beast, plus Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Cars 3, Coco,Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Disney Channel's Descendants 2. DMG recently acquired the entire Star Wars catalog featuring the music of Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer John Williams.
Working under the direct supervision of the VP of Synchronization and Licensing, this role's main responsibility is to pitch, market, negotiate and close deals on DMG front line titles and catalog music for use in Film, TV and Commercials.
Responsibilities
• Develops strategy for presentations and conducts pitches for front line titles and catalog to Music Supervisors at Ad Agencies, Brands, Film and TV
• Negotiate quotes and closes deals to place front line titles and catalog music
• Researches weekly film, TV and radio production schedules to find opportunities for DMG artists and catalog song placements
• Identify and develop opportunities for licensing titles, working closely with artists, artists' management and DMG A&R and Marketing teams to ensure alignment with their interests and purpose
• Drives new business by prospecting, researching and developing relationships with Music Supervisors and Ad Agencies
• Proactively drives revenue for DMG through the licensing of the catalogue which includes Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records and Disney Music Publishing
• Continuously researches the DMG music and publishing catalog to find songs for future exploitation
• Keeps up to date with new trends in the industry and contributes to shaping the department's pitch strategy
Basic Qualifications
• Must have at least 5 years of experience pitching music and, closing licensing and synchronization deals
• Must have strong relationships with Music Supervisors
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of how music is used and chosen for Visual Media
• Excellent knowledge of how placements provide a marketing platform to help drive sales
• Knowledge of master licensing and publishing licensing
• Must be comfortable working independently
• Ability to travel (mostly domestic; ~4-6 times a year)
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Keynote and ability to build presentations
• Knowledge of AFM and SAG/AFTRA reuse fees
