At The Walt Disney Studios, you'll help bring compelling stories to life through film, music and live entertainment.
Disney Theatrical Group is currently seeking a Labor Relations Coordinator to join the Labor Relations team. The ideal candidate will possess a polished, resourceful and flexible demeanor, while demonstrating superior relationship building and problem solving skills. This individual will report to the Director, Labor Relations and will serve as the ''voice'' of the department, both internally and externally, ensuring a positive experience for all who interact with the team.
Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling and coordinating meetings/travel, drafting of correspondences, and preparing expense reports.
• Assist attorney with documents necessary to prepare for and attend negotiations/arbitrations.
• Assist team in reviewing drafts of various agreements.
• Maintain calendaring of all action dates /deadlines and create reminder notices.
• Assist in collecting, reviewing and processing of hire paperwork for staff and production hires, forward and track SAP processing; submit and review background check requests for new hires; request positions, create vacancies, track and maintain requisitions; submit employee transactions for production staff; ensure accurate I-9 compliance; request SAP job roles for new and changing positions.
• Performs basic legal, general and factual research for labor relations.
• Request, pickup, and process union contracts, complete and timely mail.
• Act as main point of contact for all union increases and benefit changes, securing appropriate management approvals before submitting for payment.
• Scan and file electronic and physical files, both personnel and departmental; input data and maintain electronic databases and archiving of physical files.
• Provide project support as needed.
• Work on various paralegal projects for the Business Affairs department as time allows
Basic Qualifications
• Background and experience in labor relations and/or human resources including familiarity with union agreements preferred.
• Experience in the entertainment industry a plus.
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 2 years' experience.
